Street Performances in New Lynn

Street Performances on Thursdays, 16, 24 and 30 June
New Lynn Transport Interchange, McCrae Way, Totara Ave and the New Lynn Night Market

Getting on or off public transport in New Lynn is going to be more fun on Thursday nights in June. You might receive a live sound tracks to your commute, encounter a human statue or get to follow a brass band made up of superheros.

The  street performances aim to bring a moment of fun and happiness into the daily routine of public transport users and create stronger connections between the station and New Lynn’s night time economy.

Captain Planet, Catwoman, Spiderman, Superman, Green Lantern, Flash, Iron Man, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Captain America formed a brass band. They’re going to march around New Lynn gathering people up for the Night Market’s 3rd Birthday and finishing with a short gig in the New Lynn Community Centre. https://www.facebook.com/superherosecondline/

The New Lynn Night Market is a weekly community focused event that brings people together. With diverse street foods from around the world on offer, a communal dinning space, and the Wash Against Waste team on site cleaning your dishes the Night Market is a great place to meet for dinner in the heart of New Lynn. Come along in June before the market closes for a short winter break in July.

The New Lynn Transport Interchange was opened in 2010 and is part of Auckland’s Transit-Oriented-Development. The integrated bus and train transport interchange allows for better pedestrian and traffic flow around the rail network and more frequent and reliable passenger services
