Signed, Sealed, Delivered

We’re excited to see you on the 17th and 18th of April for a morning/afternoon of writing letters, kai, and connection 📝📬❣️
Why letters? In an age of fleeting texts and depersonalised social media, handwritten letters are a timeless gift of warmth and connection. Connection with our community through creativity is the core essence for this kaupapa—and we hope could join us!

“Signed, Sealed, Delivered revives the art of letter-writing as a means of creative expression, while providing space to pause, reflect, and connect with yourself and your community.
We are excited to host two letter writing workshops in Avondale over the April holidays. You can write letters to yourself, to others, or to your neighbourhood. These letters can be kept for yourself, sent to its recipient or shredded as a means of release.
Letters have always been a bridge—between generations, across distances, and within communities.
We hope that these workshops provide an avenue for connection, meaningful dialogue, and creative expression.”
About the artists

Lovely Dizon was born in the Philippines, raised in rural Waikato and has lived in West Auckland for the last five years. She works as a researcher in a local NGO and is an avid reader, coffee drinker and occasional writer. Her and her husband Allen, proudly call Avondale their home.

Kyra Maquiso is a Pinay with roots deep in the Whau (having grown up in Avondale when she moved from the Philippines 20 years ago). When she’s not neck-deep in books researching on whenua Māori and Tiriti issues, she dabbles in handkerchief poetry and essays on culture and home. While she currently works in Wellington, she continues to see the warm and vibrant Avondale community as one of her homes.
