Night Garden
What blooms in the garden when the night falls? What springs from our hands when creativity strikes in the dark?
Join local artists Laura Allen and Esther Toclo as they explore endemic plants and textures that grow by the Whau river through clay and cordage works. Inspired by their shared experiences of creating a garden and crafting at night, the two artists exchange knowledge through materials: porcelain, tī kouka muka and recycled textiles.
Their works will be viewable at night at the Avondale Community Garden and the windows of All Goods – art space.
Laura & Esther will open up the space and invite you to try your hand at some airdry clay experiments and simple cordage making. You will be able to take your piece home or create one to leave as a gift for the show.
