Join local makers Laura Allen and Esther Toclo in exploration of Te Whau through ceramics and textile for their new joint project: Night Garden.

 

Following the bends of the Whau river, they will embark on a research hikoi in early April to explore the shifting histories of the water and surrounding suburbs. A culmination of hand crafted objects will be on display later in the month to celebrate their findings with the Whau community.

 

Night Garden reflects the two artist’s relationship with creativity, the midnight muse often visiting them at dusk, cultivating a lush garden of objects reflecting their love of soil and everything that grows from it.
