Last week the Mother and Child sculpture outside was reinstated.

The Mother and Child sculpture was first created by Paul Woodroffe, as a site specific temporary artwork gifted to the Avondale community in 2013. Paul says he created the work to celebrate the new young families in Avondale, and encourage them to participate in the Avondale community.

After being vandalised  only a few months from first being installed, she has been constructed in stronger steel and part funded and supported through advice from the Whau Arts Brokers.
