Braids and Bottle Caps: Art, Environment, and African Legacy
Join Nigerian-born artist Mary Adeosun as she transforms bottle caps collected from the local area into braided masks and wigs. This project celebrates African culture and tackles environmental issues through creative reuse.
With help from friends and collaborators, Mary will bring the library to life with art, workshops, and community events. A braiding workshop will also be held, welcoming people of all ages to connect, share, and create together.
Taking place at Avondale Library during Africa Month in May, this exhibition is a chance for migrants and locals to celebrate culture, build community, and reflect on caring for our environment.
