Sue Clark from Art at Work set up an interactive art space for the local community at the New Lynn Night Markets. Taking place every Thursday over four weeks (March 12 – April 2) the art space gave visitors to the market the opportunity to collaborate with the artist to design and make colourful painted flags. Each week the flags were joined together to create a large scale bunting representing the community’s vision and creativity. Over 64 metres of bunting representing 130 people’s creatvity was made. Visitors to the Night Market can now see the bunting every Thursday night.
The New Lynn Night Market is a weekly community focussed event that brings people together. With diverse street foods from around the world on offer, a communal dinning space, and the Wash Against Waste team on site cleaning your dishes the Night Market is a great place to meet for dinner in the heart of New Lynn.
The bunting was supported by Billboard Solutions and Industrial Textiles Limited who both donated material.
